We've seen many comparisons between LIVE and PSN before, and I'm sure that we'll see many more in the future. However this time it's the job of QJ.net. The article's focus however is mainly on the most important aspects of the online service - Accessibility and the Content. Go to the source and compare the two and see if you agree with them.

t can be said that Microsoft and Sony have been in competition for the heart and soul of the gaming masses. In the gaming industry, it's the company with the must-have console that wins the day.

How do they make a must-have console, though? It's simple: by taking basic ideas and improving upon them. One of these basic ideas is the presentation of an otherwise needed feature in consoles today: the user interface.

    I stopped reading after this:

"If you were colorblind, you'd have some trouble seeing certain aspects of the Xbox 360 interface..."

Yeah. Good luck to that 10% of the human population!

Um . . . okay, so you're against consideration for 10% of the human population. Hmm . . . 10% of the world. Well, I'm sure you don't mean to be inconsiderate toward about 671,509,976 people out there . . .
Sorry, just seemed like a very lousy reason to stop reading, just because they were mentioning that for accessibility's sake. Sheesh . . .

Yeah, because all 672 million own consoles, right?

Besides, it's a stupid argument regardless of which platform it's aimed at. If a colorblind person (which isn't what a lot of people think it is) has trouble with the X360's marketplace blade, then he/she's going to have trouble with health meters, ammo counters, seeing people in camouflage, driving lines, etc..

Not to mention the fact that the X360's marketplace blade is clearly market as "MARKETPLACE."

Hm, I'm not an expert, but I happen to know some people who are colorblind, and in the case of LIVE, they'd just see different colors than we do, correct?

It totally depends on what color they're blind to... unless, of course, they're one of the rare ones who actually see no colors at all.

As great as this article is, it states absolutely nothing we didn't already know. In fact all it states as usual is XBL being better due with content and easy to use interface. Honestly, I know I visit QJ most of the time but its a waste of a read says nothing new. And the fact they never once brought up Home as an argument is just stupid.
Whats funny is after reading that whole article not once had they say anything about the price of the networks. Thats where most people get the systems for.
Most people don't want to spend money and doesn't need all the features XBL has so they pick the PS3 version instead.
Many hardcore gamers who expressed how online is a MAJOR factor for gaming, I'll use DMD as an example expresses why he feels XBL is better due to the online quality and extra features you get for $50 a year.
"YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR". It seems Cliche that we have to keep referring back to that statement but its true. You get what you paid for.

Yes we know both offer good things and is great services, but overall just states the obvious, its like beating a dead horse already.

Exactly. 360 is a pay-service, so it has to be better than PSN. The very fact that we've got and are getting so many extras now with PSN (trophies, XMB, Life With Playstation, Home) can only be considered a bonus.

I've been a gamer since SNES, and I'm still having trouble making that transition to "online" tbh. I have a PS3 and I have yet to even register it on the network (Relax, I just got it a week ago)

I will do so, but I don't know if I will be taking to the Net to do more than obtain some DLC, which is something I like because it enhances the overall game offline.

When it comes to online, I want simple, free and fun. One day, I'm sure the PSN will convert to a pay service and add more, but until then, it's just a matter of what you prefer - fully fleshed out online service for a fee or just a network to play. You're going to get different opinions one way or the other, it's simply about preference.

Both services aren't that bad. I do have to admit though, that I like Xbox Live a bit more. I'm sure PSN will eventually improve, especially with Home. However, the comparison articles are getting old by now.
