Certainly looks like the XBOX360 is doing extremely well and that the PS3 has a lot of catching up to do...

That sentence reminded me of that song "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth". Sing that same tune for that song but replace two front teeth with a PSP...I lol already.

Out of all of the upcoming games, there were only seven that I want: Motorstorm, SOCOM, Resistance, LBP, Ratchet Quest for Booty, Gears 2, and Portal. The Wii scores a resounding 0 points in my heart and will continue being my paperweight.

Mario games, Zelda games, Metroid games...Nintendo-based ones make up most of their exclusives.

Sure they have exclusives. Many games that are made for the Wii aren't made for any other console, mainly due to the controller.

those excusives shouldn't count, 90% of them suck.

Meh, the ones that suck to me are the sports ones, like Mario tennis, etc..

I like how everyone is immediately jumping the 360 and PS3 rivalry bandwagon again. Except for HawkMan, no one is batting an eye at Nintendo's exclusivity statistics.

Yup, these graphs confirm what we all knew - that Sony's first-person games are the main reason to buy a PS3. 360 has fewer good first-party games coming out.

Does it really matter whether a game is first party or third party when you are playing it and having fun?

        Krunal | August 08, 2008
Agreed, I'd rather have an overall good game than a good first party game. Whether its First Party or Third Party it doesn't make much difference to me.

Jesus Christ, Sony is behind! I figured 2008 would bring them fortune, but it looks like they're just as behind as they were last year. Statistically, PS3 is doing mediocre with exclusives. But it won't stop me from getting the ones they have LOL

360 is looking more and more like the super-successful PS2 every day.

Remember Red it isn't just the numbers that matter. If it were then the Wii would be looking like gold right now. The PS3s exclusive list might be a bit thin. But most of the games on the list are good. Some of the exclusives on the 360 and particularlly the Wii are a bit weak.

Don't get me wrong though ultimately quantity will win out. Because for every 10 games you have you might have 1 really excellent game and 4 decent games. Leaving about half to the bargain bin. Unless you're Nintendo of course then you have 1 really good game and 9 boxes that the developers took a dump in and told you was gold.

Though Sony definitely needs to do some 3rd party courting.

What Sony needs is a 1st party blockbuster. Depending mostly on 3rd party is why Sony is apparently becoming a victim of this alleged exodus of alleged 3rd party exclusives. It was only a matter of time till it happened to a handful of them. Yes XBOX360 does have it's 3rd party games that do well too. But the games that really go beyond spectacular and get thousands to pack every gamestop for a midnight launch are 1st and 2nd party games.

Right now the only 1st party game I think could probably do that is God of War III.

As awesome as God of War is, and a huge fan myself, I honestly don't believe it can do that.
What Sony needs however is a 1 party blockbuster franchise, new one at that. There old games from the PS2 isn't going to help the PS3, its new franchises and series which will lead the way im afraid.

A huge LOL at the Nintendo exclusives, it seems quality escapes the Wii games.

Unfortunately I don't think they'll be doing that. If you remember what they said previously, they'll be supporting First Party titles more, and the fact is, First Parties will always be Exclusive unlike Third Party which could very well go multi-platform. At the moment, Sony DO have many Third Party developers developing for them, its just that none of these games seem to be 'Exclusives'.

I pretty much only care about the PC and PS3 games. Unfortunately that site could care less about PC.

From that list, I'm looking forward to
    • Valkyria Chronicles (was supposed to be a 360 title...ahaha )
    • LittleBigPlanet

Although, I have to hand it to the 360 for having all those RPG exclusives. I'm glad they're porting over Eternal Sonata.

Haha, I completely overlooked the fact that this list was 2008. It's 2009 which is the bigger year for Sony's exclusives, as that's the year of the make-or-breaks - Killzone II and God Of War III.

Wasn't it meant to be 2008 that was the year for Sony and not 2009. I'm sure they'll be some good games coming out in 2009 for PS3, but this was supposed to be the 'Biggest Year for PS3' due to the number of blockbuster titles that are due out this year (GTAIV, MGS4, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, etc...)

        Taker4ever | August 08, 2008
GTA IV isn't exclusive and Killzone II isn't out till 2009. Only ones I can think of to come in 2008 are those last two you mentioned, and Little Big Planet.

2009 has Killzone II, God Of War III, Uncharted II (probably), GT5, inFamous, Heavy Rain and more.

Honestly 2008 has been a good year for the PS3. It has beaten the 360 in month to month sales pretty much all year. It even beat out the Wiis sales for the week that MGS4 was released. Though only for that week. Then the E3 FF13 announcement messed that up a bit.

It has so far had the better exclusives. Though Gears 2 will change that a little bit. In the end though the PS3 has more big games for this year and next year than either the 360 or the Wii. At least more that we know about.

All the PS3 has to do is get another big name game back under its belt to regain the momentum it lost after E3. And everything will be kosher. The PS3 has the potential to catch up with the 360. And had it not lost FF13 it probably would have done so by the end of this year. Now we just have to wait and see how Sony comes back from this. They can either just ignore it. Or they can hit back with a huge 1st party exclusive that will excite people again.

Well if there's anything that's being covered up, my best advice would be to keep it that way. Hype on a PS3 game is a terrible thing.

I have one question... With the Wii exclusives. Do sports games count as exclusives. Like Madden is much different on Wii then 360 or PS3. Same with a lot of games.

      Krunal | August 08, 2008
No, if the game with the same name is on another platform, then its considered multi-platform. It doesn't matter whether the gameplay is different or not.
