Blockbuster selling lots of Blu-ray players

chautemoc | August 10, 2008 | News | Playstation 3 Company Misc
According to Blockbuster's CEO Jim Keyes, the movie rental giant is selling 2,000-3,000 Blu-ray Disc players per week since implementing Blu-ray kiosks in their stores. Perhaps people just needed to see what they were missing?
Because of this success, he feels that Blockbuster will soon become an ideal location for the rental and purchase of Blu-ray products.

Keyes commented, "We think we are seeding the Blu-ray population. We are seeing consistent growth, new customer growth, which is probably contributing to our increased [in-store] foot traffic."

Who gives a *bleep*. This "haha blu ray is doing good!" shit is so annoying. Post something interesting or don't post at all.

      Great news for Sony.

Blu-Ray is the coming future so it is nice to know how far away this future is, it is looking to be very close judging by the Blu-Ray inception rate.

What do you mean it's "coming"? Go to the mall, you can get anything blu ray you want. Hence my dismay for the article, people are buying it. No shit, no surprise.

It's the coming future because it isn't mainstream yet. Also, up until now, Blu-Ray players haven't exactly been clearing shelves, so this is still news.

What does it matter to you if it's mainstream or not? Does how popular it is matter to you at all? If so, why? Are you a sheep who will only buy it if you see other's buying it?

I just can't see how anyone finds this news worthy. Sorry. If some blu ray player were to drop below $100 or something, that might be news as it could affect me as a consumer, and thus would make it relevant. This is just...worthless fanboy babble.

Worthless fanboy babble? Fanboys of who, Blockbuster? A movie player?

If you're so pissed with this news, why stick around? You're free to have an opinion, but there are people who like reading this kind of news.
