I agree with the NIntendo article big time.

"My biggest disappointment has been the Wii. Rather than creating a revolution in how we play games it has become the cozy home of rampant recidivist bullcrap. Wii Sport’s version of tennis may have opened up gaming to the mainstream but when it is less interactive than Pong you really have to question its value. The Wii hasn’t brought about any revolution. It’s just replaced button presses with random flailing and devolved games into nothing more than a novelty"

    quoted for the freakin truth.

    what the *bleep*.
Wii isn't all about random flailing, mostly, only the SHOVELWARE is random flailing. at least it gets you moving, rather than the no-life people i play with on Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 who have been level 10 prestige lvl 55 a month after the game came out, i JUST got to 10th prestige, 6/7 months after i got the game.
I own PS3 and Wii, getting a 360 once i get my funds allow it (only $200 away now)
PS3 and 360 are a big dissapointment for me, the only real games i like are 3RD PARTY for those systems, Uncharted was good....uhh...what 1st party games are for xbox?
I applaud Nintendo for releasing their Biggest franchises within a YEAR and 1/2 of release.

Just because you are too lazy to move your arms for a FREE GAME THAT CAME WITH THE WII IN EU and NA.
And games like Metroid Prime 3 and Zelda TP use the motion control flawlessly, its perfect for those titles, there are MANY games with options to use other means of controls, like BRAWL, Mario kart, etc.., Resident Evil 4 and Umbrella Chronicles are amazingly made for Wii, i hated using the analogue sticks on my PS2 and Gamecube versions, but the Wii made it so much easier to shoot the shit out of zombies.

You're calling the 360's library a dissapointment, but the Wii's a raging success?

Maybe if you'd look at the sales you'd see how much of a success it is.

If I remember correctly, Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Mario Kart, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Metroid Prime 3, Red Steel, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Guitar Hero, Wii Fit, Wii Play, Wartio Ware, Rayman, Sonic, Mario Strikers, and tons more have all sold millions of copies. I dunno how the *bleep* you could refer to those sales as "shit". The console has had its share of flops, but so has the PS3 and Xbox 360.

          PS3 flops: Haze, Lair.

          Wii: Too many to count.

I agree with Alvardoduck, The Wii Is only good for VC, MK, And GC. Wii is mostly shovelware and "hardcore" flailing/failing. MK and MP3 was the only good "Hardcore" Wii game by nintendo. Brawl sucked, Galaxy sucked, I wish i had a 360 so I could play some GOOD JRPG/RPG. IMO, the wii's biggest problem is it's Missing Good games. more Hardcore, less shovelware.

It's kind of ironic that people are looking to the 360 for good JRPGs, when in truth you can expect a 360 RPG to sell maybe five copies in Japan.

I know I bring that topic up a lot but, whatever

I agree with Yoshi and rock. Nothing but shovelware on the wii. have fun enjoying your 1st party casualgames. While the rest of us are going to be playing badass games; resistance, gears of war, god of war, uncharted, little big planet, infamous, final fantasy 13 and versus,Heavy Rain, and Team ICo's awesome game. what the hell is the wii going to have? more shovelware and games with no hype(conduit and Disaster). thats the only games the hardcore gamers of wii have looking forwards too. They're to enslaved to the wii to purchase a real gaming system.

lol @ the 1st party Casual games part. Nearly EVERY 1st party game on the Wii is considered hardcore, whether it's "badass (which is the biggest load of BS I've heard in months)" or not. And half the games you listed are mediocre or could easily be matched by a game Wii owners happen to be playing (I would prefer Mario Galaxy or Brawl over resistance and Gears of War any day. Just not my types of games)...Stop trying to argue that your opinion rules all and the only good games out there are those you like.

        Epic fail.

actually Lost oddysey and Blue Dragon sold pretty well over there. I suggest you research some facts before mouthing off. Last remnant and a bunch of JRPGs are being released on the 360. Your useless tactic of bringing up Japan is pointless. JRPGs are on the 360 and available for the american and european market. don't see how bring up japan is gouing to stop [people from enjoying JRPGs on the 360.

You like feeling like the boss, don't you? There was no reason for you to go around saying "you'r useless tact" and "mouthing off". I would have respected what you were going to say if you had just said it normally.

Stop being such an baby. you pointed out yourself you use the same topic over and over to make a point, it's a useless tactic.JRPGS are coming to the 360 no matter how they sell in Japan.

so go cry me a river and drown yourself in it.

What does it take to get a ban? This dude is flaming everyone like they're talking crap about his mom or something. His comments aren't intelligent and don't add to the conversation, they just serve to start a flame war. Tighten down on banning, GameGrep.

How about you actually look for good games on the Wii? Try a title called No More heroes. The licensed games that usually suck are actually good on the Wii. The Godfather and Scarface are good examples. Battalion Wars 2, Captain Rainbow, MLB Powerpros, Okami, are games that your not buying only because you haven't heard of them. Seriously actually look for games instead of being "if it's not a triple A title it must suck."
Oh and HawkMan your a douche.

      HawkMan | August 11, 2008
All those games you listed are exactly why the wii sucks. Who the *bleep* wants to play Battalion Wars when you can play COD4? Why bother with Okami when it was already beeen released on the PS2(sure its a good title, but why bother when theres tons of other good games out there). Seriously if those games is what people who own a wii have to look forward too, they might as well commit suicide now.

PSN and XBLA have awesome kickass downloadbale titles. Pixel Junk Eden(an innovative title on the psn) is one example. You don't even get online downloadable games on the wii.

Better to be a douche with great games (both present and future), then a dumbass stuck with a glorified paperweight.

Like I've said before in regards to the Wii's library:

"I don't have a damn party every day. Release some proper games already!"

HawkMan, perhaps because Okami shows more originality and style than 99% of current generation games, and the fact that no one bought it on PS2 anyway? Not to mention how much better painting with the IR feels compared to a analog stick makes the Wii purchase well worth it.

Congratulations, you have a preference for certain kind of games! That doesn't mean that others share that preference, and may enjoy a game like Battalion Wars over CoD4, especially considering they are completely different types of games. Just because you enjoy certain games on certain consoles does not mean other games on other systems aren't just as fun for fans of those games.

Also, you could at least do some research before flaming another member and his console preference. Wii has the unarguably single greatest retro downloadable service in the Virtual Console, filled with the best, read, best, games from the 8, 16 and 64 bit generations. I guess you also missed the Wiiware downloadable games that have been available for months now, featuring plenty of excellent titles now and to come. Titles like FFCCMLaaK, LostWinds, SBCGfAP, and Dr. Mario Online, followed by titles like Megaman 9 with the Wiimote as a true NES style controller, Animales De la Muerte, and plenty of others. Wii has plenty of downloadable games, just a lack of space to hold them all.

Also to Red 9, perhaps you should look again. Yes, Wii does have plenty of party games. But there are tons of great games to play by yourself or online. I have 13 games in my Wii collection in a little over a year. Only two of them could really be classified as "party games", namely Smash Bros. Brawl, and Wii Sports. Wii Sports is a free tech demo that came with the system, and Brawl is one of the most anticipated follow ups to one of the most popular titles of last generation, as well as a fighting game which is designed for multiplayer. The rest of my games consist of single player affairs, including all of Nintendo's AAA series. It's fine if these aren't game series you enjoy, you don't have to play them. But you should at least acknowledge there existence, and that they have plenty of fans, many who enjoy any one of these titles much more than any title currently on the other consoles.

I agree with BBB. Thanks for saving me about 4 paragraphs of typing. Really HawkMan, when half your posts belong to flaming the Wii (I mean, what the hell, you orgasm over every opportunity you get) it's time to shut up and stop trying to argue a point that makes you look like a complete idiot.

Aside from that, I own a Wii and a 360, and I don't play my 360 any more than the Wii. Hell, I play it half as much as the Wii right now. Just because you prefer Call of Duty 4 over battalion Wars doesn't mean everyone does. Really, congrats on having an opinion, but I hate to say not EVERYONE agrees with you. And those who don't, shouldn't be flamed because your not mature enough to put it aside. I could list about 10-15 must buys on the Wii right now, as well as 5 upcoming ones. I can barely find 5 games on the 360 that I enjoyed for more than a month, simply because the console does not suit my playing style nor am I a shooter fan. Don't try to argue that the Wii has no good games and your precious XBL (as great as the 360 is) "pwns" everything. It's preference that decides what console you like, because no console is simply "better" than another or "best out there". It's a matter of opinion.

          Geez, fanboys these days...

I notice you sort of skimmed around no more heroes there...

also, what is all this stuff where people think you can only have 1 console? what a load of crap! You don't need to hate on the wii just to justify your choice of console. The wii being good doesn't mean the 360 is a bad one. There can be more than one good console out there. Which is lucky, cause there are three.

I already have a paperweight system it's not the Wii, it's my 360 which got the RROD. The Wii's releases are looking promising, it is getting a good looking shooter in the form of the Conduit, Fatal Frame 4, dead Rising, Red Steel 2 not to mention, the multi platform games like, COD5, Smackdown vs Raw, a Pikmin game is in the works, Guitar Hero, Star Wars the Clone Wars, Sonic Unleashed which actually looks good for a Sonic game.

It works quite well. The motion controls are a little more of a learning curve than the Ps2 controls, but in the end it has a nice feel to it and the game plays out well.

Surprisingly, the game has a very Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess feel to it.
