The semi-sequel to Tools Of Destruction, Quest for Booty will be the next game in the Ratchet and Clank series. The game will clock in at size of 2.3GB, and will take about 3-4 hours to beat. It will be a PSN only game and will be released on August 21, in all territories for $14.99.

The upcoming PSN-exclusive follow-up to the successful Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction will be available for the masses soon: August 21st, to be exact. Many have been wondering how large the download would be, considering Tools of Destruction took advantage of the incredible space offered by Blu-ray. Those interested in downloading the upcoming game should know that Quest for Booty clocks in at slightly over 2GB, or 2.3GB to be precise.

While that's a large download, that's only slightly larger than most episodes of Qore and a few demos. Hopefully, it'll take longer to play the game (about 3-4 hours) than it does to download it.

On Playstation.Blog, the precise release date of Rachet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty was announced: August 21st via the PS Store. And guess what, Europe? You are getting it the same day too! Our Japanese friends will have to wait until August 22nd, but with the time-zone difference, it is virtually the same day.

As unveiled before, the price will be $14.99 for an "action-packed 3-4 hour experience for almost the same price as a movie ticket." No word yet on whether the Blu-ray release of the PAL territories will be released the same day. For more info on this upcoming stand-alone mini-sequel, check out our hands-on impression.

Better make space, kiddies. Glad I got a 200 gig in my system.

Much smaller than I expected, hope this isn't a indicator that the game is really short.

Srsly, do you even read the articles anymore? It says 3-4 hours

Yes I know it is meant to be 3-4 hours long. But Ratchet and Clank Future only takes about 10 hours and I'm sure it takes up more than 2.3 GB. Thus why I think it could be shorter than expected

Yes, Tools of Destruction is longer and is bigger. I don't see your point.

Okay I'm not sure what the official count is but I assume Tools of Destruction is around 25 GB. Now that equals out to around 10-12 hours of gameplay. Now Quest for Booty is a measly 2 GB and is supposed to equal out to around 3-4 hours of gameplay. It doesn't seem logical that a game that takes up less than one tenth of the storage space as its Full PS3 game counterpart can be almost half as long as it.

Do you see where I'm coming from now?

Precisely the reason I'm waiting for a the Blu-Ray edition to be released.

Haha, I couldn't really wait...ever since they announced it I've been pretty impatient over anything that has to do with Siren.

Since I upgraded mine into an 80 Gig, space isn't really much of an issue for me. Though if you don't have the same luxury, you'd probably have to go spring cleaning on your HDD. Especially if PSN games continue to be this big.

Im just surprised to see how good the game looks for a PSN game. When I first heard of this, I thought it was going to be a 3D side scroller or something, like Bionic commando.

Hm, an external HDD or you had it installed in the PS3? I don't see a need to do that anytime soon, don't have many PS3 games, anyways.

Internal. I have a lot of installs, themes, videos, music, PSN games, Qore, Linux. I like to store my files locally as much as possible and I don't like deleting things unless absolutely necessary.
