Spore releasing next month is not going to be something to just play and then forget. In fact several expansions to what will surely be a cool game are already planned. Among them executive producer Lucy Bradshaw mentions a Flora editor which would give you the ability to create your own plants as well as species.

She then added that a "flora editor" may be among these additions, allowing players to create their own plant species as well, presumably for your creatures to munch on. I'm sure the internet community will keep things completely tasteful when it does come out and certainly will not produce a field of phallic trees or some such.
