Star Wars: The Demo Unleashed

chautemoc | August 17, 2008 | News | Playstation 3 XBOX 360
The Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo announced back in May has a confirmed release date: August 21 (for both PSN and XBLM). Brandish your cardboard lightsaber, it's time to get wieldin'!

The demo tasks the player with tracking down and taking out a Jedi General called Rahm Kota who’s besieged the TIE Fighter Construction Facility. To help gamers get to grips with the Force powers, a tutorial will be included. Last but not least, the sampler will feature the level’s alternative ending, one not found in the retail version of the game.

LOD, you are still alive? Damn, haven't seen you in a while.

But yeah, I agree, there has been quite a bit of hype with this one, it better deliver.

I haven't really been following this game, so it'll be interesting to see if it plays anything like the trailers have made it out to.

According to Shell, the demo will be a special version of the Tie Fighter Construction Facility, where players will have access to extra force powers and a "super secret" ending to the level not found in the final version of the game.
    Interesting...

I was insanely hyped up about this game until I saw some gameplay in action. After I saw that, I realized how lame it looked. The whole enemies sticking to random things while using the Force really turned me off because of how stupid it looked. Hard to take a game seriously when two troopers are holding hands whispering sweet nothings into eachothers ears or somehow grabbing a flat surface and taking a box with them into the air. Some lightsaber combat looked awesome, though, so I'll try out the demo.

WOW, a bit uncomfortable with our sexuality are we?

Seriously, you wouldn't grab a dudes hand if you thought it might save your life? Are you an idiot?

Someone is a crabby bunny. The flopping around and grabbing things looks awful. Relax.

No, you're opinion is your opinion. You have a right to it. However, don't throw in some homophobic bullshit to validate said opinion. Simply contribute your opinion and move on...

It was just a hyperbole to show how silly I think it looks. I don't condone the use of The Force on any same sex partners holding hands nor do I think grasping the hand of a fellow man falling down a cliff is gay. But unusual gyrating while holding hands in the air and palming a 400 pound crate looks stupid.

The whole game looks easy, apart from the boss battles it is a simple case of pushing people off platforms before they can even see you...

The gameplay we have seen so far is likely on the Easy mode. Developers usually do it so they don't die while demonstrating.

Even so most of the game is about exploring and killing storm troopers and the like, they do not stop a basic jedi let alone some evil bastard hell bent on world domination. The only things i see getting difficult are the boss battles and i think it will be harder getting to them if the gameplay really is that easy as it could be a borefest. i could be wrong and they could be playing on easy but i just don't think using force powers will be that hard lol, press X for lightning press O for force push, press both to combine them. I can see it being like that lol.
