Highest Expectations for a Game?

Euphoric | August 19, 2008 | News | XBOX 360
Ok so this guy, Denis Dyak, thinks that his game, Too Human, is awesome. Great I hear you say. Where's the story in that? Well this does provide an interesting look at how over-hyping can give some seriously warped expectations for a game. The short piece also gives a nice insight into the biased view of a game's developers when they are discussing their new creation.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com at a press event in London last week, Silicon Knights boss Denis Dyack has revealed that some gamers often have ridiculous expectations of games.

"Some games get so hyped up, gamers actually believe that when they get this game it's going to cure cancer," stated Dyack. "So actually releasing a demo brings everyone back down to earth. But with Too Human it was just so skewed across the board, we had to say hey this is our new game, it works really well, it's really different, it's a genre bender, and we felt we had to release a demo or we were dead. So far it looks like to be the right choice in this case."

I've heard mixed things about this game. Some people abhorred the demo, some people can't get enough.

I think it'll be love/hate; either you love it or hate it.
