Sony says no PS3 price drop at Leipzig GC

Twisted | August 18, 2008 | News | Playstation 3 Games Convention 2008
Sony has said that there will NOT be a price cut of any kind at the Leipzig Games Convention, which takes place next week in Germany.

The 80GB PS3 will be released in England on the 27th of August for £299.
Sony has outright confirmed that the company will NOT be announcing a price cut of any description at Leipzig Games Convention next week in Germany. Got that?

"It's not going to happen. If you're coming for that you'll be disappointed," Sony Computer Entertainment spokesman Nick Caplin told Reuters. We can't remember if we were really expecting one though.

Anyway if you are in the market for a PS3, be warned that the 80GB goes on sale in the UK soon.

At E3 SCEE confirmed that the 80GB PS3 will be launched in the UK on August 27 for £299, with the 40GB console is phased out.

id say they'll lower the 40gb's price because keeping it at 399 beside the 80gb the 40gb wont move

I can always hope for a £50 price cut for the new 80gb. I have a 60gb from launch but I want a second one but i need the price to drop first.
