Majesco Games recently announced a new racing game for the Nintendo DS, where you're on a bike, not a car. Majesco says you'll be going through deserts, cities, and shipyards, and also jumping things like trains and bridges. Read the features in the quote.

The game will release in Europe before the end of the year.

Majesco games has today announced a brand new racer for the Nintendo DS, one in which players jump on a motorcycle to battle against some of the world’s most prolific street racers. Powerbike is set for release in Europe before the year is out.

You’ll, Majesco explains, be involved in jumping trains and bridges, tearing away from the cops, and navigating your way through deserts, shipyards and cities on your mission to become the ultimate motorbike supremo.

Features:

* Test your skills on 8 insane courses from the open desert to the heavily congested urban streets to a shipyard, and more!
* Use winnings to upgrade your bike’s speed, acceleration, traction and stability.
* Earn cash by flaunting your tricks in Stunt Mode, performing jumps, burnouts, wheelies, drifting, and more
* Take part in 3 speed-fuelled race modes on each track to earn winnings
* Jump obstacles including trains, bridges and traffic as you work to evade the cops
* Race or go head to head in Stunt Mode with a friend in local DS multiplayer>

As well as the main single player mode, a Stunt mode, as well as the ability to go head to head against other players, is included in this racy package.

This is probably the best Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars could do if it was this view, which would suck. With that said, no-one likes the overhead view, so how is the game going to work?

This reminds me of Road Rash on the Genesis/SNES... Hell i feel even that 20 year old game could and would look better than this game and play a lot better, oh the fun i had running police on a super bike. This game will probably have some lame dual screen features like take your hand off the accelerator, pick up the stylus and scribble to attack other bikers, or worse control the whole bike, acceleration and all with the stylus.

I am getting tired of Nintendo games, i like the DS and the Wii but thats where it ends. Their consoles aren't really innovative and their controls are just a burden on good gameplay, the Wiimote for instance in 90% of games is based on randoms and you are never in full control and the DS i just don't understand why everything on that system must be mapped to the touch screen. It is very annoying to say the least.
