PS3 fans, mark another date on your calendar. We finally get to enjoy the highly popular Bioshock on October 24th. US gamers get to enjoy the game a few days earlier as it will be released on the 21st.

The PS3 version, which is being handled by Dark Sector dev Digital Extremes, is set to feature new content in the form of a 'Survivor' difficulty mode and downloadable 'Challenge Rooms' which test your plasmid skills.

The PS3 port of highly-acclaimed 360 and PC FPS BioShock has been dated for October 21 in the US, and internationally on October 24.

And yes, BioShock PS3 also sports full Trophy support, before you ask.

"We are proud to introduce 2K Games' showcase title, BioShock, to an entirely new audience," said 2K president Christoph Hartmann on the date news.

"With the addition of the new Add-On Game Content we are able to extend the award-winning adventure while maintaining the perfect harmony that millions of players around the world have fallen in love with."

Yeah... I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to have any money at all left after this.

Well, it's still nice to finally have a date.

Even If I had the money for both LBP and bioshock, I wouldn't have the time to get the full experiance from both the games. Plus R2 will be coming out in in less then a month after bioshock and LBP.

Like some of the other posters, I doubt I'll have the cash for this.....I need to get a job.

Geh, you need money for games, jobs for money, time for jobs, and time for games.....More job time = more money = less game time >_>

It's called work for one summer, get a crapload of money saved, and then quit in the Fall. Play video games as much as you like in your off-time.

Of course that's only if you're under 18 and still go to school. Otherwise you probably already have a full time job.

If you're really up for it. Get yourself a part time job EVEN while in school, so when vacation comes along, you'll have enough money to buy yourself more than 5 games at a time if needed...patience, Grasshopper.

I have a network database management job, work toward a second degree part time, do some software beta testing here and there, keep my girlfriend "pleased," and I still play a lot of video games. It can be done. Sleep is over rated.

October is such a great month. My birthday is in Oct and so many great games are coming out.

But because so many great games are coming out that month, I'm not sure if I'll be getting Bioshock that month as it's not high on my want list.Honestly, I only want to play the game to see if I will find it as great as everyone says it is.

Interesting, I say when the price goes down 20 dollars or so, i'll get this. But come then I won't. Better games coming out then this.

I doubt that won't happen for a long time. The cheapest it will be is probably 30 for that PS3 greatest hits.

Oops I meant $30. Thanks for that reminder LPF.

Funny, I thought (based on the way it was written) that you meant 'Down by $20), meaning you were right in the first place. Whatever though >_>

It won't happen anyway. This is the best game coming out for the PS3 that's been announced.

Now that you mentioned it Tallteen I think I did mean to say that too just didn't come out right.

@Donnelly what does being the best game coming out for the PS3 have anything to do with it coming down in price? Nothing, it would still be one of the best titles to release on the system, just cheaper. Im not going to pay 60 bucks for a game I already played on 360 on the PS3. So many other worthy titles coming out to buy then a port of a 360 version.

You said there were better games than this coming out when there isn't.

Actually LittleBigPlanet and Fallout 3 are coming out at almost the exact same time. And I would buy either before I get Bioshock.

Then you're buying what will, inevitably, be inferior games.

          gg.

Oh yes your word is law right? Especially on games which both look promising and you haven't played, against a year old game which to me looks way overhyped.

          Yes.

    Final Blade Aug 21, 08
Lets see here, Band new game and titles to a year old port with some extra's...yea sorry Bioshock doesn't match to the new games. Alot of better games coming which is going to make more sales and money then the bioshock. Cause tbh not alot of people care for bioshock now. I would be surprised if it hit 400,000 in 4 months.

More sales =/= a better game.

New games, more headlines, better sales increases PS3 sales =/= old year old port

That made no sense whatsoever .

          Final Blade Aug 23, 08
Oh it does, let me make it clearer for ya.
New game which gets more headlines and increase of sales of the game; which in turn increases more console sales of the PS3 is >>> then a year old port.

Face it don, no one cares for bioshock anymore...at least when it comes to new games series which ends up being better then Bioshock. LBP perhaps.

No it isn't. Not when the year old port is the best game released this generation.

And why do you care about Sony's console sales? Do you have shares in them?

Clearly missed my point, good job. (Y)

Oh will you please stop raising bioshock ego. Its a good game to warrant a GOTY but not the best game this generation. Thats just clearly the most idiotic comment I've ever heard.

Seriously I don't mind if you like the game and all, but don't talk out of your ass and making BS statements as fact.

I never bother to read the arguemtns and conversations had in the GameGrep articles. They're usually too long to be worth reading, and usually aren't important to begin with.
