Nintendo of America said that they were disappointed with themselves this year at their E3 coverage. Many people were also dissapointed. Some people were looking forward to a new DS system being announced, or other big games.

Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime said the Nintendo won't ignore the core gamer market.

Nintendo of America sales and marketing boss Cammie Dunaway has revealed that the company was disappointed with its showing at this year's E3 Media and Business Summit, which drew criticism from some sections of the gaming community, notably core gamers.

"I would say the message is we were disappointed with our performance at E3," Dunaway told VGChartz. "There were titles like Wario which we think will be really fun titles that we should have showcased.

"We were excited that Mr. Miyamoto made the commitment that Pikmin is coming. It would have been nice if we could have said that on stage. But, we think it was a good recognition for us that we care for our core fans, and not just the new people who are now discovering Nintendo."

In the wake of Nintendo's E3 press conference the company's American president Reggie Fils-Aime claimed that Nintendo wasn't ignoring the core gamer market, while star designer Shigeru Miyamoto also stressed the importance of the market.

Nooooooo shit? They'd better be disappointed; else I'd rage boiling stomach acid towards their general direction, if I haven't already.

Nintendo was about Kickin' ass and takin' names, now, they're about makin' causal games.

    *bleep* them.

Even if Nintendo say that they haven't forgotten their core fans, their emphasis will still be on the casual market, because that's where a lot of the money is. After the success of the Wii with the casual gamers, it's never going to be the same for Nintendo; there isn't a definitive "gray area" between casual and core gamers. We've seen that with the criticism games such as Manhunt 2 and Madworld have drawn.

They might be disappointed with their E3 conference, but it still doesn't seem like they know why core gamers were annoyed.
I don't consider a brief mention of Pikmin to be a good way of showing "that (Nintendo) care for our core fans". >_>

Nintendo needs to do alot of things, but chances are, they aint gonna do it, they want to forsake their core fanbase, for the newcomers. The casuals loyalty is flippant, the cores loyalalty stays, but they dont realize that, and they wont until its too late.

*bleep* them. they ARE ignoring their core gamer market. if they weren't ignoring us, they would have internationally released MOTHER THREE by now.

If they weren't ignoring us, smash bros brawl wouldn't have sucked.

if they weren't ignoring us, wii fit wouldn't exist.

if they weren't ignoring us, then 60% of os wouldn't loathe the name 'nintnedo' right now.

There is definitely NOT a happy medium between core and casual for Nintendo. It's a shame they're so frickin' blind to it!

There's nothing wrong with commenting on articles that are a little old. After about a month or so, you cannot comment on them anyways.

And, you can't even bump articles on GameGrep, they stay where they are.

Understandable, but I'm just saying it's been unactive for a while it would probably be better to just partake in current ones, plus his comment didn't even really add to anything that was going on.
