Tecmo President Yoshimi Yasuda will no longer be chairman on September 1st. Apparently resigning due to 'personal reasons' Chairman of the Board Yasuharu Kakihara will replace him. While he claims these reasons are personal it is likely the recent lawsuits from former Tecmo staff including Dead or Alive creator Tomonobu Itagaki had a hand in it. Whatever the reason he's heading out the door.
Today, Tecmo Co. Ltd. announced that Tecmo president Yoshimi Yasuda will resign. The Board of Directors accepted Yasuda's resignation -- which was for "personal reasons". Starting September 1st, Chairman of the Board Yasuharu Kakihara will assume the position of Tecmo's president.
Yasuda has been at the center of the Itagaki vs. Tecmo legal suit. Dead or Alive creator Tomonobu Itagaki is suing for unpaid DoA 4 wages. These were "special incentive" wages that Itagaki claims were agreed to by the former Tecmo president and the board of directors, but the current president is claiming these "special incentive" wages were made single-handedly by the former president and not approved by the Tecmo board.

Good on you, Itagaki. You fought for what you believed in, and it finally paid off.
Itagaki - 2
Tecmo - 0
Itagaki pretty much had them from the beginning with this.
Seems to me either case no one won, and its sad to see Yoshimi Yasuda leave. Well you were a great president for tecmo, hope you do well in your future endeavors, good luck in the future.
Either way, Itagaki has won. He wanted his bonuses, but I'm sure destroying his nasty ex-bosses career is a much sweeter victory. Yasuda wouldn't have quit if he wasn't so publicly chamed into doing so.
Regardless I don't personally like how Itagaki handled things tbh, has nothing to do with this though.
As I said Its sad to see Yasuda leave. And wish him the best of luck.
