LittleBigPlanet online play confusion!

During Leipzig Pete Smith, the director of LittleBigPlanet, gave the unhappy news the game's online component will be divided into regional servers. Yet according to Playstation Fanboy the very same producer said the game will have a global server just today. So what's going on?

We're confused, Mr. Pete Smith, producer of upcoming platform-a-thon LittleBigPlanet. When we spoke to you during today's LittleBigPlanet breakdown session you said that "the game will have a global server." Now we hear that you told CVG something a little different. User generated content will be region locked? Normally we'd say "we're not sure who to believe" at this point, but seeing as both statements come from the same person, we're doubly confused.

    I don't get regional servers. Does that mean I can't download levels from people who live in europe?

      That's what it sounds like, but because of the contradictory statements from Pete, guess we'll have to wait for clarification.

        That would be really dumb of them. Talking about sharing your creations to the whole world, yet people from a different country can't download your stuff. If this is true, I wonder if I use my european account, it will let me download stuff from europe.

      No matter how great a game may sound, no game is perfect. You should know this by know.

      Well this will suck if this happens. Hopefully its just a mistake or misinterpretation.

    Even if Americans could only play levels made by Americans, there would still be WAAAY more fantastic levels to play than any one person ever could. So it's not that big of a deal, although it is mildly dissappointing.
