There hasn't been a decent firmware update for the PS3 in a while so its about time a new one was announced. CVG (Computer and Videogames site) has learnt from a source on the development team that the next update 2.50 will feature built in screen capture capabilities. So this would potenially mean it would be present in every game and perhaps even videos. Look out for this one.

CVG has learnt that Sony's next firmware update for PlayStation 3 will include an option for screen grabbing, allowing you to take your own shots of what you get up to on your PS3.

A development source has told CVG that PS3 firmware update 2.5 is rumoured to have screen grabbing built in.

Why would sony announce that they're enabling developers to enable the player to capture video, only to do this in a firmware?

I admit though it is possible but i'm going to chuck this up on the more not likely side than anything. I would welcome the ability though if they did implement it.

I hope this isn't the only feature they're adding. Cause I rather have an ability to save parts of my game while playing like with the Halo 3 feature.

Though interesting, I'll wait til Sony confirms this.
