This goes to show you what time and dedication can accomplish. Andrew "androkles" Hasko has been working on his "Niveus" map for two and half months, and it still is not complete. He says its mostly being made for sight seeing and hopes that someday it will be released in playable form. Also, click the link to view a video of the map.

Everyone needs to check out the media on this outstanding work-in-progress level called Niveus. The level has been put together in Sandbox 2, of course, and it features a stunning custom-modeled/textured medieval city crafted by environment artist Andrew "androkles" Hasko. It took two and a half months of Andrew's time to reach this development stage for the level.

According to Hasko the goal was to not make a playable level per se but a medieval environment which is nice to look at, and he says that the currently unoptimized level runs at ~5fps on his PC (Intel dual-core, 2GB, GF8500GT). His future plans for the level is to performance-optimize it and do more texturing work and so on. Hopefully this fascinating creation sees the light of day in a playable form some day.

Screens look sweet. Don't have the game though.

Pretty harsh when unoptimized though >_>
