Ubisoft taking Far franchise back to Africa in Far Cry 3

Well it seems that Ubisoft's narrative director Patrick Redding has let a small wildcat out of the bag at last weeks Game Convention when discussions around Far Cry 2 and its franchise started up.

For my money I'm hoping that they do follow through with keeping it all within Africa, as the setting is much more conducive to creating such a varied atmosphere within a game. It will allow them to come out with the next iteration much faster and allow a better flow within the franchise as well.

Especially in this day and age, when 12 months can make or break a franchise. In the past, 2- 3 and even 4 years between iterations was acceptable, but now, 24 months is a LONG time between drinks.
Well the current title has yet to settle on the shelves, but Ubisoft are hard at it’s next iteration of the Far Cry Franchise, and we’re back in Africa this time as well.

For me that’s a good thing actually. I prefer games based around this style of gameplay rather than some demonic unnatural force. The monsters this time are Human Beings, the worst kind.

It’s great to see their commitment to staying in the African region, as there’s much to be said about both current situations, as well as past without the need to get all up-close-n-personal with zombies and monsters. Far Cry 2 is due for release in October this year, and it’s looking at being perhaps one of the best looking and physics based games out on consoles yet. However, Ubisoft, in their normal manner (as do most development studios) are into the “preliminary stages” of the next iteration of the Far Cry franchise.

WHy would they delay the game, do you mean Far Cry 2, or Far Cry 2.

Far Cry 2 is due out in October, and they will bring it out then, any later and they begin t run into the release windows of several other AAA titles. Which I'm sure they do not want to do

No it says it takes place in africa right? If you go around killing the people in the game. People will start saying its racist. For killing black people. Not trying to mean. But they get a little to upset
