Far Cry 2 has gotten an official release date from Ubisoft for the 24th of October. The title is releasing for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on the same day as Fable 2, and just about a week before LittleBigPlanet.

Ubisoft has just confirmed that Far Cry 2, it's self-confessed "biggest game of the year", will be out on 360, PS3 and PC on October 24.

It's also confirmed that a special Collectors' Edition will also be released, packed in an exclusive wooden box, containing the game, a Limited edition Far Cry 2 t-shirt, a "The Art of Far Cry 2" Art book, a Collector 50km map, and a making-of DVD. The collectors edition is available for pre-order at Game.

In case you're tight on pocket money you should also note that Far Cry 2's out on the same day as Fable II and a week before LittleBigPlanet. Make your choices now...
