In 2007, Namco Bandai introduced one of the best games to hit the Nintendo DS system: Game Center CX: Arino's Challenge. It was a game based off of the Game Center CX TV show, where it depicted Yoiko's Shinya Arino as an employee of the fictitious Game Center CX company, whose job is to clear the challenges given to him for popular video games. The Game Center CX game had the player sent back in time by the Evil Game Master Arino back into the 80s, in the time of 8-bit and gaming magazines. It was frequently described as a game that allowed you to relive your childhood. And now, Namco Bandai has announced that there is a Game Center CX 2 in the works, with no concrete details as of yet.

The original Game Center CX game was literally games within a game, with 7 full-fledged 8-bit Famicom-style games available for playing, ranging from the Star Soldier-knockoff Star Prince to the Dragon Quest-like Guadia Quest. All the while you will receive comments from an 80s kid Arino. Each game comes with a fully illustrated manual in-game, and you will also have a subscription to Game Fan magazine, where you can get the latest lowdown on those cheat codes and other tips and tricks for the games whose challenges you need to clear.

The first Game Center CX will be localized in America by XSEED Games as Retro Game Challenge, and is set to release later this year. No release date has been announced for Game Center CX 2.
