If you thought EA tech support was bad before...

Deathsythe | September 08, 2008 | News | PC Company Misc
A series of emails back and forth between EA "Customer Support" and a customer who was having problems with his downloaded purchase of Crysis.

After the usual banter about system specs, DirectX Diagnostics and network issues- they ultimately reply with the below quote.

Yikes.
EA Support
Greetings,

There is nothing else we can do here to help you.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you,

Man's that's horrible, but also slightly funny. I hope the guy gets something done about this. Just to see EA squirm.

HAAA The funny thing is that doesnt suprise me in the least. EA are notorious for having really really crappy support. I try my best now to stay away from EA Games.

If you go to the source of this article you'll see the extent with which EA suck. I Hope the guy takes them to court and sue's them through the floor, the responses from EA technical support staff are insulting at the best of times, Im suprised trading standards havent already smacked EA for their incredibly diabolically shocking service they provide.

For this guy to be so damn smart, why in the blue hell did he buy a digital copy of a special edition game? That's just asking for trouble. Heck I had problems with my Half-Life 2 physical copy. (No CD Key)

He was duped into thinking that the digital copy would be the only way he would play it first. EA duped him with that statement, and then they duped him again with their tech "support".

The most support in the EA offices is supplied by the pylons holding the building together.

He ran all the troubleshooting himself- he basically did their job for them. Most support people thank me for preforming these basic, mundane tasks that they need to rule out before providing any real help - instead they just shoot him down and dismiss him when he CLEARLY knows more about what is going on than they do.

All his reponses are common for tech support. You have to jump through hoops.

BUT, EA support is horrible. It took me 5 emails to get my beta codes for Warhammer. I just kept repeating my request over and over and eventually someone smart enough gave them to me.

What else was the guy to do? People treat tech support like superman but at the end of the day if the game won't run the game won't run they can't just zap the computer and make it work. They passed emails a few times but at the end of the day sometimes there is just not much they can do. People have to remember these guys are dealing with people all day everyday 24/7, half the time dealing with "I installed Crysis it doesn't work" and then goes onto list specs 16 times below the minimum required, i am sure i would find it hard to really stay focused on those that really need the help when you have really dumb people like that, who do exist by the way.
