Microsoft Still Owns Age of Empires - Muhahaha?

Don't worry, RTS fans. Ensemble Studios might be going the way of the Dodo after they finish Halo Wars, but their Age of Empire series will live on to conquer another day.
With Ensemble Studios set to close after Halo Wars is completed, many wondered what would happen with the historical real-time strategy series Ensemble was best known for: Age of Empires. In a move that might either comfort you or scare you, Microsoft has announced they've still got Age of Empire clutched to their bosom/in their death grip.

      I assume future games will be made by whatever company is formed by the remnants of Ensemble. As far as individual designers, though, who knows.

    Yes, some of them will retain jobs with Microsoft, as reported here.
