Japanese developer G.rev had been relatively quiet recently, with no news games released since 2006, when they came out with Dreamcast shoot-em-up Under Defeat, and the 360 version of shoot-em-up/fighter hybrid Senko no Ronde. Last year, they announced that the sequel to Senko no Ronde is in the works. This sequel has been officially titled as Senko no Ronde Dis-United Order. It will make an appearance at the 46th Amusement Machine Show in Makuhari Messe, Tokyo on September 20th, where details will be released.
Senko no Ronde, originally for the arcades, was a rare fighting game/shoot-em-up hybrid. Two robots, called Rounders, fight against each other with 2D fighting elements mixed with shoot-em-up action. Fighting game button input led to special attacks performed by your Rounder. One of the other features was the ability to unleash what was called B.O.S.S. mode, which transforms your Rounder to a large machine similar to the bosses you would see in shoot-em-ups, completely with bullet hell patterns.
There is no platform or release date announced for Senko no Ronde DUO. The official site can be found here
