Capcom is done make platform-exclusive games

According to Capcom's shareholder report for 2008 (it ended March 31st), they have stated that starting the next fiscal year, Capcom will cease making exclusive games.

It looks like they're putting the plan into place, with RE5 releasing for two consoles, while Street Fighter IV may be coming to the Wii.
Henceforth, Capcom will develop many of its games using its internal MT Framework technology, "an integrated development environment built to provide common development tools for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC platforms."

As a result, the company "will aim to increase revenue and dramatically increase the number of users by launching, for example, Resident Evil 5 ... Street Fighter IV ... and Bionic Commando [on multiple platforms]."

It seems that this really only applies to their PS3 and 360 titles. I can't imagine some of their Wii titles like Spyborgs and Zack & Wiki going to the HD consoles. On the the contrary, I can't imagine some of their PS360 titles going to the Wii such as Bionic Commando. What this means is that the PS3 and 360 will be sharing most of their titles while the Wii gets its own, which is nothing new really.

That being said, I'm still looking forward to Street Fighter IV Wii, Capcom!

Just because they are done with exclusive games doesn't mean the game will come to every platform imaginable, a game isn't exclusive if it is on two platforms so they are keeping up their bargain.

That would explain what they did with Devil May Cry 4... personally I'd rather they keep some exclusives, but its not like there are many Capcom games that I'm hugely interested in.

Aren't Capcom Third party? I mean most of the third party titles are multiplatforms so its no surprise they're doing this.

    YAY!

I want Street Fighter IV to come to the Wii. I remember playing one of the old ones. I used to love them, and I still play them when I get the chance.

Well, we could gather this much when Capcom decided to multiplat DMC4. It comes as no surprise to me, Capcom's decision.
