Three key developers from the fabled studio behind the Metroid Prime games have broken away and formed their own house. Mark Pacini, Todd Keller and Jack Mathews have already signed an exclusive publishing deal with EA and are set to work on new IP's. It's rumored they may be making games for the 360 or PS3.

Three key developers behind the Metroid Prime series have announced the formation of Armature Studio.

The Texas based company will be headed by Mark Pacini, Todd Keller and Jack Mathews, who left the Nintendo-owned Retro Studios in April. Armature has signed an exclusive publishing deal with EA and is set to focus on developing new IP, using a small core team and external developers.

      Who cares, Metroid sucks anyway.

Anyway this is interesting, I hope new IP's and no longer milking Metroid happens.

GTFO, you don't even know what you're talking about. How does Metroid "suck?" Let me guess: Microsoft fanboy?

Remember a while ago how I accused you of writing stupid things to piss people off? This is what I was talking about. This is why we need the thumbs down back, to get rid of stupid comments like this. But since you were such a whiny bitch about it, they got rid of it so you can troll all you want.

Also, if you think Metroid sucks so much, why are you happy to have three ex-Retro employees making games for your precious Xbox?

Metroid is Nintendo created and owned. It won't be on another console as long as Nintendo has a console.

This is what I figured when these three broke off from Retro. I wish them luck in their new studio, and can't wait to see what games they have in store for us.

They can't have Metroid on another console due to Copyright issues. But good for them, I hope they can make some great games for 360.

They left Nintendo for EA of all companies? Doesn't sound like they were too happy with Nintendo when they left, so we probably won't see any Nintendo support from them any time soon.

At least we still have the rest of Retro, though.
