It has been confirmed by Activision (or is it ActivisionBlizzard now?) that developers Infinity Ward will be returning to the franchise to help with Call of Duty 6 - they were last seen in Modern Warfare). No new news on any details about the game - but with Infinity Ward back on the team - one can only speculate.

Activision has confirmed that Infinity Ward will be returning to the Call of Duty franchise, and will be behind the sixth instalment that's due for release in 2009.

Call of Duty is currently in the hands of Treyarch, who previously worked on the third game and are taking the first person shooter back to WWII with the forthcoming World at War. There's still no news on where the next game will be set, and though Infinity Ward is thought to be at work on a futuristic science fiction shooter, it's more likely that this is the touted new IP for the company rather than the introduction of ray guns to the series.

I thought that the epilogue for 4 was the start of 6?

Good news that IW is working on it though.

As Herbert from Family Guy said. "Jackpot"

Oh yeah, disturbing scene there, poor cheerleader. xD

This was planned, that IW and Treyarch would take turns with these games, not to mention BlizzActivision named a few titles that would see annual releases, the CoD series being one of them. Still, can't wait for CoD6. ^^

It's weird how they take turns to make the game. Somehow it works.

This was obvious from the start. I mean they keep flip flopping turns on who gets to make which game.

Future Warfare huh? I don't know - why don't they just take whatever was completed already from Starcraft: Ghost and just finish it?
