Film Adaptation of Mass Effect?

BioWare's science fiction RPG Mass Effect might be coming to the big screen. The rights to a film adaptation have been optioned by a high-profile Hollywood producer.
Watch out, Fox News! The virtual sex simulator might be coming to a theater near you and destroying your precious small town values. Avi Arad, the producer of several recent Marvel comics movies, has optioned the rights to the Xbox 360/PC RPG Mass Effect.

    As good as Mass Effect was, not every single *bleep*ing game needs to be made into a movie.

      I would still pay to watch it though, it would make a good backdrop for a movie.

      But almost all of the time it goes like this:
      Someone buys rights
      Studio starts to fund
      Some small scale planning and maybe some actual footage
      Studio pulls out
      Put on hold.
      ????
      Profit

    Mass Effect would make a good movie. Well, it could make a good movie. Of course, there isn't a good chance that it would be completed, or even truly started.
