Apparently AreusTech is creating "Smells Like Wii Spirit" which allows wii users to smell the enviroments of the games they are playing. So what do you think? Have they gone to far this time?

AreusTech recently revealed a Wii peripheral entitled "Smells Like Wii Spirit", a device that produces different odors based on what Wii game you are playing.

Connected to the Wii via the system's USB port, the device will respond to whatever Wii game is currently being played. Examples cited by AreusTech include Mario Kart Wii (which will produce a burning rubber smell) and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 (a freshly-cut meadow). AreusTech has promised that the device is compatible with all curent Wii titles, and will be compatible via updates with new games.

Smells like Wii Spirit will be available in Germany for the price of 149 Euros and will be released in July of next year, with no known plans of release elsewhere.

        olol. Xenc ftw.

And smelling the environments of your games? Lol, a burning rubber smell for Mario Kart Wii? That would be horrible. Wonder what they'd do for a Wario game. XD

Not the Nintendo way though Xenc. It's not family friendly enough!

Let's not forget the friend codes for the inevitable online play, because everybody knows it's more fun to touch with your friends!

No Avalith, its Wii Food. Get it right.

Nintendo just killed any respect of any kind they had in me. They literally just took it to another level of fail.

Too bad Nintendo has nothing to do with this.

It's created by AreusTech, whom I've never heard of.

No but this is different, Those are just peices of plastic.

This is something which actually interacts with the game and as it says, Its compatible with alot of Nintendo made games, How do you think they made it compatible without having any help or contact with nintendo?

EDIT-Nvm its fake as I thought, Lol

    Hahaha,

    Wow. Crazy . . .

I do wonder what they have considered each game to smell like.
But really . . . burning rubber is a horrible smell! Is this going to end up making people stink up their houses and have to run outside?

WAIT! That's gotta be it. The wii focuses a lot on making sure you don't stay inside and sit all the time, but play outside too. Now . . . they'll stink the people out! Genius!!
