Even if your character dies in Heavy Rain, you can still continue playing the game. As you can guess, there were tons of questions when this piece of information was revealed.

David Cage, developer of the Adventure game, told CVG that there are save points throughout the game, but begs you not to use them.

"Yes, there will be the opportunity for players to reply as much as they want from where they want, but we would really like to encourage them not to do so - to continue to play with one story bearing with the consequences of their actions," he told us.

"This is what's exciting about it," he added. "This is a story that you told. It's pretty unique. So why would you want to do everything perfect and change what you've done. You will be able to redo what you like but we recommend not to."

Every new thing I hear/see regarding this game gets me more excited. I'd get a PS3 just for it if there weren't any other games I wanted, even, I think.

    That sounds... odd...
What is the actual game about?

I don't think that that is quite what he was implying...

Yeah, he was implying that people would use the save points to reload a character, before they died, instead of playing with the new character(s).

        That is what I'm guessing....

Nice attention-grabbing name but very misleading. He says not to re-do the same scenario over and over again, he recommends that players continue the game with the decision they made, etc.

Good point, Seeker. I wonder if it REALLY has an effect on the story, though... other games have promised such things before but they've never really come to fruition. I'd love for it to work in this game, though.

I'm pretty sure this can work well. Considering that they kinda did the same thing with Indigo Prophecy, they almost made it possible there.

    Final Blade Sep 22, 08
First off, Im glad about the save feature being in.
Second off, don't tell me how to play a video game thanks. If im going to pay $60 dollars for a game I'll do whatever I damn please since its MY GAME.

      RKRigney Sep 22, 08
The article says that he "recommends" and "asks", which since he's one of the actual creators of the software, shouldn't really offend anybody...

        Final Blade Sep 22, 08
I don't really care if he's the actual creator, I buy games to play how I want to play it. I don't need him to recommend how to play a game which im paying for. Its my game I'll play it however I choose to.

He didn't tell you to do anything; it was a recommendation. What the hell are you complaining about again?

          Final Blade Sep 22, 08
Again had you read I said I don't want anyone to recommend how I should play the game. The point is its our right to play the game however we choose to if we buy the game.

          Seeker X Sep 22, 08
The guy's only recommending what he thinks you should do to have a better experience...you're acting as if he insulted your mother...chill.

@ FinalBlade: No shit genius. Again, why are you complaining about a recommendation? That's like bitching someone out for recommending you use a straw when drinking from a cup.

          dmf_dynasty Sep 23, 08
Hey! Don't tell me how to drink from a cup that I payed $2 for. It was made strawless and if they wanted me to use a straw, they would have built one in!

How dare the creator of the game recommend the method of playing that gives the most enjoyment to you.

    Cheeky bastard.

    Final Blade Sep 23, 08
On Vacation, whats the point with the creator of the game thing? That wasn't my point. I just feel its within my rights to play the game any way I want. I make my own fun and challenges within games. It has nothing to do with being thick or saying stupid things, I just don't like someone recommending to me how to play a game whether he's the president of the country or creator of the game. Whether or not you feel its a stupid thing to say, I did feel a little offended.

Its just another person's views. Learn to accept it and move on.

Offended? Are you serious? If you truly felt any offense whatsoever for somebody making a small recommendation on how to have more fun with a video game, then you seriously need to grow up.

      Fatal Error Sep 23, 08
Lol, "offended". Yes, I'm offended that the creator of a game is recommending to me that I play the game a certain way in order to enjoy the game more. What an asshole.

I like how FB addresses On Vacation in particular, even though literally about half the users of this site are chewing him up and down for that comment. Great stuff.

You're going to have to explain to everyone exactly how you were offended in any way if you're going to be taken seriously in the future. All Cage is saying is that if you die, he suggests you continue on instead of reloading. The game obviously is built differently than others, and the game will change with your actions. He obviously knows how the game plays better than we do, so he is simply explaining the game's structure, nothing more. It's not like he gave a full walkthrough. If you want the full experience, play it like he said. If you don't, then don't. How in the hell could you be offended??

    GTA_Fanatic Sep 23, 08
Final Blade, would you be offended if a waitress recommended a certain meal? No, you wouldn't...
    So why the hostility?

Final Blade stop acting so pretensious and above it all. All the creator did was offer some advice which would make the game a better experience for all. You sound vunerable for some reason, which clearly doesnt need to occur. And your usually one to critique someone elese opinion so stop preaching about how this is yours. Get a grip.

And we dont care if you "dont need him to reccomend". Your not important in this matter. Neither is any individual. He is merely pointing out how to get a more fluent authentic experience for it. Where do you get off thinking that the developer commented on such a feature with your feelings in mind. Others of us, like myself, are happy such an article has emerged. I was actually myself going to contemplate creating savepoints to help cheat the system somewhat. Now I feel like playing the game through trufully. The true flaw in your arugment Final Blade, is that they wearnt talking to you directly, and therefore you should just take in on the chin and move on, not blow your load over an issue which you disapprove of. If you havent got anything useful to say within a topic, button it.

Heres a reccomendation from me: Loosen up, Bitch.

Lol yeah. It seems like originally, Final Blade was an ignorant fool, who couldn't write well at all.

Then he seemed to improve, and was generally less ignorant. But still, even though he has improved a bit (his writing too), he still seems as big an idiot as before, if a bit more subtle about it.

Guy still annoys me a fair bit with his comments (I can almost hear an idiotic sounding voice pretending to sound well informed and articulate), but I generally keep it to myself >_>

Anyway, Heavy Rain will rock! Sounds like a very story-driven game which is unique in the age of graphically shallow titles.
