In Japan yesterday, there was another Gyakuten Saiban Orchestra Concert held in Shibuya' Bunkamura Orchard Hall. Before the concert, Ace Attorney/Gyakuten Saiban producer Minae Matsukawa talked about the expansion of the series, from the games, manga, and musical concerts the courtroom drama series has already been involved in.

At the culmination of this talk, it was revealed that there will be a Phoenix Wright Musical that will be performed by all-female Takarazuka Revue. The musical's story will revolve around a love story not played out in the games. Also, the English-localized names of the characters will be used. Phoenix will be played by actress Tomu Ranju. It's first run will be in February 2009. You can view the video of the announcement here.

Check out the rest of the pictures from the orchestra at the source.

Why not just use the English name for the series so more people know what you're on about?

Because when they first announced they were going to be revealing something, they announced it as "NEW Gyakuten Saiban NOT Game", so anyone who has been closely following the news on this is familiar with the term. It's in a similar vein to when they were about to announce Gyakuten Kenji, refering to it as "NEW Gyakuten NOT Saiban".

I had my hopes pinned on an anime being what they announced so I never saw this coming! Sounds pretty awesome to me, I just hope they release this on DVD or something with subtitles..
