After being already leaked by Sega last week, it is now formally announced in this week's issue of Weekly Famitsu that Sega will be published 7th Dragon, a RPG for the Nintendo DS. The game is being directed by former Etrian Odyssey director Kazuya Niinou.

7th Dragon has the main party quest in an attempt to kill all the dragons, with the actual story/motivation not currently known. The battles in the game will be turn-based battles, with an active battle party consisting of four members. Characters can be one of seven party types, each with four different appearances. Each of these classes will have their own skill trees where they can grow and customize their set of skills.

The game will release in 2009, and will make an appearance at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2008. Magazine picture is courtesy of Wii @ Everyday.
