The fascist state that is becoming Spore's online community is becoming more and more real. EA moderators are now proposing bans on anyone who discusses DRM issues in game or more specifically in the game's official forums. Not only will these ban you from posting to the message board, but you may even be forced to purchase a whole new copy of Spore in order to play again (let alone participate in the forum).

I am curious as to how this lines up with their TOS and EULA, because it doesn't sound very legit to me.

EA has threatened to ban the Spore accounts of members discussing DRM issues on the official game forum.

"SecuROM has been discussed and discussed so much and it causes arguments in threads," barked a moderator. "If you want to talk about DRM SecuROM then please use another fan site forum.

"Please do not continue to post these threads or you account may be at risk of banning, which in some cases would mean you would need to buy a new copy to play Spore."

Wow, that's epic bullshit. End of story. EA, you were sorta half becoming cool but you still SUCK! As far as the EULA goes, I'm pretty sure there's some lines in there or something saying they reserve the right to revoke any accounts they want without notification for whatever reason they see fit.

That was a claim by a single player moderator, not by EA or Maxis. That particular moderator seems to have been demoted following this incident: Link

Thats just *bleep*ing great. EA is more like a dictatorship than a game corporation.
