A price cut for the Playstation 3 has leaked via a Blockbuster Memo, claiming that the discontinued 40 GB model will drop to $360 from $400. Additionally, a bundle of the model starts at $400.

The adjustment will drop the 40GB model to $360 and a 40GB bundle with an HDMI cable, Spiderman the movie and Transformers the game to $400. Additionally, stores that have trade-ins of the PS3 40GB will be selling it for $360.

Though the 40GB lacks a lot of features..that's really cheap with the Blu-ray player. Makes me wonder if I should sacrifice the features of the other models for it..

Does this really surprise anyone? What else are stores supposed to do with the left over 40GB PS3's? All major stores mark down or clearance discontinued merchandise to make room for the new models.
Anyway this is a good deal if your planing on swapping out the PS3's hard drive with a much larger one later on. And why not price it at $350? It's not good to remind people of the competition!
