Resident Evil Remake for Wii is "Japan Only"

A few days ago it was announced that a port of the Resident Evil Remake will be coming to Nintendo Wii. An odd choice on Capcom's behalf, as the original Gamecube remake is already compatible with the Wii.

But it looks like the Wii port will be Japan-Only... at least, for the moment. This will come as no surprise to Wii owners, who also missed out on the Resident Evil Zero port (despite that game also being released on Gamecube).

Christian Svensson, Vice President of Strategic Planning & Business Development, went on record at the Capcom Forums with, At the moment, like Zero, this is Japan only. That could change but thats the current situation.

  We've already got the Gamecube version. It's not going to hurt anyone if the Wii verion is exclusive to Japan. I'd be more miffed if it were a new game.

    I'm afraid he's got a bit of a point. So it wasn't bad enough that they "remake" a remake but they make it exclusive to Japan? I understand that all everyone (other than Japan) wants is Over the Shoulder shooting but AT LEAST have the decency to share...they're only milking the last shred of dignity of the franchise, is it really gonna hurt them to sell it in the other regions anyways?

Well I dont have the Gamecube versions of the game. The newfound popularity of a Nintendo console means many missed out on the gamecube games: Zero and REmake. I want the Wii versions! This sucks big time.

Im in New Zealand so the gamecube games are so hard to find nowadays. DAMN IT. BRING THE WII VERSIONS (ZERO AND REMAKE) HERE!

Nintendo need to release Wii-LearnJapanesetogether!!

Its the only bloody way we r gonna see any decent titles from that stuck up lot. Japan Only? Stupid idea..
