You probably know that websites have been releasing beta codes for LBP for the past couple of days. But every time a website announces they have only a few thousand codes, the servers are horded by LBP fanatics. Bringing down websites like crazy. Oh the release date couldn't come any sooner.

If you happen to be one of the big sites planning on giving out beta keys for LittleBigPlanet this week - IGN, 1Up, Gametrailers- be afraid, be very, very afraid.

First, the rabid hordes brought Eurogamer.net crashing down, then 4,000+ of them suffered through an hour of Gamespot's laughably bad weekly TV show, "On The Spot" in an effort to score a code. All the while, they assaulted gaming forums spawning 100+ page threads in a matter of mere days (NeoGAF, I'm lookin' at you!)

This morning, Gamepro quietly let it be known that they'd be offering a few keys "in an hour or so". Minutes later Gamepro was no more, its servers crushed by the exasperated army of LittleBigBeta code beggars hammering at their gates.

Did I mention they also totally crashed the LittleBigPlanet official US homepage for about 3 hours?

That's why I'm not even bothering. What's the point in all the trouble to get the beta, when I doubt I'd even be home when they give it out.

Besides, my PS3 is disconnected from the internet for the next few weeks

Are you guys imagining this? Tons of people rabidly and mindlessly thrashing anything about...like a *bleep*ing epidemic of some sort, pretty sad.

No more sad than when Metal Gear fans did the same for the online beta, gamers just want to play this game it's probably the biggest release for the console yet.

What did they do? Bombard the Konami website? Since the Beta could've only been obtained through pre-ordering the game, I don't see how massively bombarding websites helped much. This is different though, I understand why they're all gathering around those websites for free beta codes.

EU and Aus could just download the beta. But you had to sign up for a Konami ID. Therefore the servers were crashed.

No, Seeker, it's real. Head over to the official LBP Forums on the PSU and you'll see what I mean. It's ridiculous, any site that says they're giving codes away, gets so bogged down that it within hours is inoperable Funny, but very sad for those poor sites!

I should note that Neoseeker will be giving 100 free LittleBigPlanet Beta Codes.

*waits for neoseeker to be taken down*

Hey I've brought neoseeker to a halt a number of times... this'll just be another of those occasions

*waits for Neo to get bogged down*

Wow, I mean im happy that this game seems to be getting massive fan support if the servers are crashing but damn pretty sad though.
