Recently there was word out that Little Big Planet would be released on Disc medium then be released on the PSN. Apparently that was short lived when Sony UK has come out and stated that its Blu-ray Exclusive.

But there shouldn't be any worries though, at least our hard-drives won't take any additional space. :D

Sony has stepped in to correct reports that LittleBigPlanet will be released as a PSN download alongside the Blu-ray version.
This Reuters piece claimed that Sony planned to release the game "both as a retail disc and as a digital download, through PlayStation Network".

This was news to the rest of the world - including Sony. A Sony UK rep told us this morning that the report is false and the game will only be released on Blu-ray.

I think this is a good move i mean once LittleBigPlanet gets into full swing i am sure gamers will be glad, i mean all those user made maps to download sure they may only be like 50Mb each if they are very large but it only takes a binge over 100 and you have some considerable space being taken up. Not to mention this game while simple in nature is probably in full a good filesize not your standard 5Gb download.

I thought the whole LBP on PSN thing was dispelled long ago. MM (Media Molecule, LBP Developers) said long ago, and several times, MONTHS ago!

But, the game itself will be about 40 something gigs they are saying. So, no way to have that as a download.

BlackLabel, the max a level size will be though, is actually 5Mb. That sounds small, but in actuality the levels can be huge. The reason for that is because since the materials are all on the disc, the levels really only store the "placement" of the materials. Sort of like the blueprints for the levels, instead of the actual materials themselves. The only thing that will cause issues is the use of the PSEye to place stickers/pictures on your level. Since obviously those are not on the disc, those ARE stored on the levels and therefore can use up a good bit of the space. As for the install size, MM said they're not sure what it will be, but there will be one
