It was just under a year ago since we last saw the two highly successful football game franchises go at each other - I'm obviously talking about Pro Evolution Soccer and FIFA. Both with the latest instalments releasing shortly, the Kind Folks over at Sony UK have once again given us reasons why each of them are good in their own way, in an effort to help us make up our minds on which game to get.

FIFA will perform massively better. I wonder if PES will recover.

From what the guys there said, I actually got the impression that FIFA was looking to be better. Though seeing how I could hardly score in the demo, I really don't think that FIFA (or PES for that matter) are the games for me.

Perhaps not, but there is a cult following for football games, and while FIFA has always been very popular, it has suffered competition from PES in the last few years. This year, however, the balance seems to have shifted massively into FIFA's favour. If this happens again next year, as I suspect, then I wonder if PES will recover.

So it sounds to me that if you can get by the licensing difference PES is a better game. Unless you just like to dominate(right away) and win every game 10-0 in which case fifa is the better choice.

For me, FIFA is a multiplayer game. I wouldn't ever play the computer; it's always too easy or too hard to score for me. FIFA isn't about licensing, either. It is also dominating in gameplay.
