At the Nintendo Fall Press Conference today, Nintendo has announced that they want to get the world connected with their Wiis. To do this, they're planning on a few things:

  1. The new Wii hardware will be shipped with a three and a half minute demo video titled "Things You Can Do With Wii" to highlight the system's Internet features like the Wii Shop channel and online play using friend codes.
  2. A Wii Wi-Fi adapter will be released for console owners who wish to (or have no other option but to) use the Internet features of the Nintendo Wii wirelessly.
  3. A new campaign is being launched that will grant 500 Nintendo points to Wii owners who help other Wii owners get connected to the Internet. On top of this, those Wii owners that are getting connected are also getting 500 Nintendo points.
