Joystick goes through the specs side by side of the new handheld market; including the newly announced Nintendo DSi, the new PSP-3000, and the new iPod Touch

Now that we have some concrete details about the Nintendo DSi -- which bears more than a few similarities between its multimedia competitors -- let's size it up against the PSP-3000 and Apple's "gaming handheld" the iPhone/iPod Touch. Remember this is based on tech specifications and not on games library. We'll keep updating as we get more news from Nintendo about its just-announced portable.

I didn't know you could really compare the Iphone/touch to the DS and PSP, anyway DS all the way :3

The only good thing that psp has that ds doesn't is the good graphics.

Unless Psp does something soon...... DSi > PSP

Lol the iPhone is a joke, but this PSP-3000 is news to me. Regardless, I'm still all for the new DSi. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

The DSi isn't anything brilliant. Its just a Nintendo handheld version of the PSP.

Anyway as expected, mostly close. But I prefer PSP all the way.

PSP wins outright. It has everything. The iPhone/iPod Touch are much better for music, but I don't think many people use their PSPs or DSs more for music than they do gaming. If the DSi is as good as predicted than the PSP may have to up it's game. But I'm a PSP veteran and will always stick with it

DSi is going to be better in my idea. How did the iPod touch come into fame all of the sudden anyways? I don't really understand that, and to compare it to the DSi and PSP-3000, or any DS or PSP is dumb and fully useless. Tell the iPod touch that it can start playing music alone, nothing else.

Leave iPod to the music, leave PSP to the gaming, and leave the DSi to the extras is all I ask.

      Fixed.

PSP was the first of the 3 to have multimedia functions as well as play games, where as the DS was always a gaming system. They're just trying to follow Sony and apple now.
