Originaly set for an August release, it was delayed. Now some news has been shed on on the release date. And its coming very soon. PlayStation Blog has confirmed that Linger in Shadows will be coming out on October 9th. And remember, this is NOT a game. Read on to see what it is.

Hi all, my name is Rusty Buchert and I am the Sr. Producer for Linger in Shadows. Some of you may have heard about it already from coverage here and there, but there are a lot of questions surrounding this unique title. It will be releasing on the PlayStation Network on October 9, so I wanted to explain today about what Linger is and what it isn’t. I’ll start with the easier side, and that is Linger in Shadows is NOT a game. It was never meant to be a game and it will never be a game. Yes it has trophies, but it still isn’t a game and I’ll explain why a little later on.

So then, what the heck is it? There are a few different answers to that question and I’m going to try and cover them here. So here is the short version and then I’ll ramble on in more detail. Linger in Shadows was created by Plastic, from the demoscene. It is an experiment with the demoscene and it is an experiment in Interactive Digital Art.

It's an interactive 3D rendition. Meaning you're not necessarily controlling anything. The "video" pauses at certain points and you kind of look around the immediate area for things. No one's really sure about the game's premise, so let's wait until October 9th.

Haha oops, its kind hard to explain this game, oops I mean...interactive art. Anyways, if this is good and worth the cost, I will get it.

Fixed It can get confusing sine we're all use to saying "The game XX is coming out on XX/YY/ZZ". I think I'll let mnmfan get it and tell me how it is before I get it... and I wonder how much it'll cost... £5 for an interactive wallpaper doesn't seem to be money well spent.

Quite Interesting. Just another fancy part of the Playstation lifestyle. Im really loving the Variety PSN is giving us. This looks to add to such a fantastic offering.

Interesting concept, I just hope the cost isn't too high considering its lack of gameplay.
