Mobile Katamari Announced

Chaos Swordsman | April 24, 2007 | News | Misc
I guess it's a good thing I don't have an iMode phone. I'm not really a big fan of Katamari Damacy, but here's some news for those of you that are.
Xbox 360 and PS3 aren't the only places Katamari Damacy will be collecting junk. Bandai Networks announced a mobile entry in the series, Katamari Damacy Mobile, for Japanese iMode series 904i phones this June.

The big catch with this version of the game is its unique method of control. Bandai Networks is making use of a new software technology called GestureTek EyeMobile to make your phones capable of detecting tilt and vibration via the built in camera. Thanks to this technology, you'll be able to move your growing clump of junk forward, backwards, left and right by merely tilting your phone.

Those who prefer traditional controls will have that as an option as well. We're not sure how well the game will control without the dual sided control setup of the PS2, though.

Katamari Damacy Mobile will come pre-installed on P904i model phones. Owners of other models will need to download the game through the Namco Games channel.
