It's official, PR director Brian Jarrard in a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz revealed that after Halo Recon, the expansion to Halo 3 is released Bungie will be developing no more games for the Halo franchise. And will instead move onto other projects, two of which are already under way. Of course he then makes quite a few non-committing remarks about following the fanbase and all that, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get to "Finish the Fight" again.

And when asked if that meant Halo 3 Recon would be a "final statement" from Bungie as far as the Halo trilogy was concerned, Jarrard agreed.

"I think so," he said - but did point out that the company has always supported its community, and has no plans to change that in the near future. "We've stood by this game, and we're going to keep standing by it.

Supporting a game is different to making a new one silver.

But I believe them, after all, why would MS set up halo studios if Bungie is just going to keep making them?

I'm glad. I've wanted Bungie to work on a new title since the release of Halo 3.

Same, since how disappointed I was with Halo 3.

That isn't why I want a new IP. I loved Halo 3 and thought it was the best out of all of them. Halo 3 > Halo > Halo 2.

I just want Bungie to put it's talents in to something new and fresh.
