Blizzard is arguably the strongest PC developer these days. They're also very good at sniffing out good sales opportunities, which is why it's not surprising that they're considering bringing Diablo 3 to consoles as well.

Discuss in the Diablo III forum

Blizz-Con 2008 has begun today and one of the games being proudly shown off is Diablo 3. Console gamers shouldn't ignore the news about this game, though, because the action RPG might hit your gaming platforming of choice someday, too.

Depends how you define 'strongest'. If we define it by financial success, I dont think its arguable.

I think its sweet they're leaving it open..although I guess that might mean no real possibility for PC gaming to be big again in the future..but eh, more the merrier. I could definitely imagine it on the PS3/360..even PSP.

Blizzard is smart and I hate to keep giving piracy credit for changing the landscape of gaming but they are. Diablo is going to be awesome but I can almost guarantee you that this will be flying all over those damn torrents. For the devs and distributors to make a decent buck they have to go console. Crytek has already said they will not make another PC exclusive after the next Crysis game. Consoles are harder to copy but not copy proof but way better than PC's right now. I use to be a die hard PC guy but now its just for surfing and blogging. I hope they do get a PS3 and 360 port.

Not sure if I agree with ya dude. Simple fact is that you will not be able to play this game online with a pirated copy, so that will hugely cut down the piracy angle.

Sure people will pirate Star Craft 2 and Diablo 3 to play the single player... but the real game is online, so many people will purchase the game to play it online.

Piracy isn't hurting W.o.W's sales, for obvious reasons. Likewise any game with a very strong multiplayer component will not be pirated nearly as much.

Hey Blizzard, may I request that you consider making a console MMO version of World of Warcraft, please?

Im not used to the PC keyboard controls for games, and would love to play a console version.

    Seriously though, good news.
