PlayStation games just won't die, it seems - popular game retail chain Fry's Electronics has reported it has just received a shipment of games from the higher-ups. The big deal here is they're original PlayStation games. Sure, they're Final Fantasy, but it's nice to know Sony is still holding on as we are.

If you haven’t realized I work in video game retail at Fry’s Electronics (one of the biggest national electronics retailers) recently we received a fresh stock of PSone games, which I thought were out of print years ago. It’s only two titles of course they are Final Fantasy titles. I guess Sony’s not gonna quit their support of the PSone especially since they play on ALL PS3 models.

Funny since Kotaku recently talked about EA releasing a few modern sports titles on Sega Genesis in Brazil, and Dreamcast games are still being pressed in Japan if you didn’t know (I guess they didn’t get the memo).

Till only like 3 or so years ago, NES games were still being made in Japan and there's NO way they are behind anyone else in relation to games (or any tech for that matter).

      Oh and I want.

I seem to remember it being related to piracy.

Whenever I see new PS1 games it's always something like Dora the Explorer or something.

Try Gamestation. I remember picking up resurfaced copies of FFVII and FFVIII a couple of years ago. They were only £25 as well.

Arbitrary PSX was one of the best systems ever made comment, so obviously they are going to continue making games for it.

You can generally find re-releases of the older Final Fantasy games (green label only unfortunately) that were shipped after the Square-Enix merger with the new company logo.

Man, and I'm trying to sell a handful of my PS1 games! **Sigh** I'll have to resort to Ebay

But I'm glad they still have them around If you think about it, with all PS3 models capable of playing PS1 games . . . They're still good to buy!
