The dogs of war are being unleashed today, as Activision and developer Treyarch announced the launch of the Multi-Player Beta for Call of Duty: World at War on the Xbox360. Console players can guarantee themselves a token by pre-ordering the game at UK GAME retail outlets, or online at http://www.game.co.uk/ (refer to GAME for more details). Call of Duty fans that register to become members at www.callofduty.com are also eligible to receive a token, but these tokens are limited in supply, so register today. Additionally, Eurogamer will also be distributing keys from 5pm today on a first-come, first-served basis.

    IM in the beta now and its alot of fun. basically its a watered down version of COD4 but its alot more gory. For example, it u are hit by a sticky grenade, depending where it sticks to you, you will lose that part of your body. I had a stick grenade hit me in the leg and i died. Once i watched the kill cam it showed both of my legs getting blown off. 8.5/10

    When you say "watered down", what do you mean? Do you mean that the Beta is watered down or that the entire game will be?

      He means it's Call of Duty 4, just lacks the "umph" of that game. The weapons feel lesser, though that's expected. Outside of the weapons, it's exactly Call of Duty 4 with worse maps.

        Well we don't know worse maps per say, I'm going to reserve judgment on Treyarch since they've had a while with this.

        However dogs instead of choppers is pretty weak and I'm guessing the perks are mostly the same.

    actually the maps are alot better. they are bigger, more choke points and great sniping spots(i hate sniping). The weapons are ww2 weapons but its not a watered down verson because of the weapons being old, its watered down because its so similar to cod4 its sad. the dogs in cod waw are 10xs more insane than the choppers. the sticky grenades are actually anti-tank mines. when u throw them they stick to whatever they hit, just like plamsa grenades in halo and when u get hit by an explosion you lose limbs, its sick. and i mean so far the multiplayer beta is watered down, im actually think the campaign will be alot of fun, hell jack bauer is in the game. also the graphics are not as strong as cod4. beta gets an 8.5/10. still alot of fun.
