Any word on whether or not we can purchase these units from the recycling company at a subsidized price?

I am seeing a great business opportunity here.

I'm definitely not selling my Playstation now. It could be worth some serious money in the near future.

It only serves as a nostalgic piece, really, consdering there's absolutely nothing you can do on a Playstation that can't be managed on either of it's predecessors. Except maybe use little glitching devices, which means you suck at games anyways

You know the Playstation didn't have any predecessors, right?
      I believe you meant successors.

FINALLY. God, those were the days, I guess. Never had one myself, but looking back, they were crap (Not the games, they ruled!). =)

Hehe, I still have my Playstation (the model in the article picture actually). I still play it regularly, since I don't feel like having to see the graphics stretched when playing it on my PS3 hooked up to the widescreen, HD TV. I don't think I'll ever sell it.

Me too, I don't like getting rid of consoles. Cause I know things like this will happen, and I want to remember the good old days of gaming.

I had to get rid of my PS1 because it was worn down from over use when I got it. R.I.P PS1.

It makes me cry inside whenever I recall the days I had timeless hours of playing several Playstation games.

Too bad most of the games the Playstation made famous, the PS2 killed it.

Sypro and Crash Bandicoot were one of the greatest but killed off by greedy companies.

I have two of them. Love them to bits. They are going to be mounted up on my new room currently in renovation.

My modded PSP now serves as a PS1 game machine also. But theres no way to truly replace the feeling and immersion of the original Playstation. Alongside Nintendo64, the two machines provided hours and hours of sheer fun and entertainment.

Sadly, the feeling has not quite followed through into this generation with the 3 consoles I own. Going back to the old titles is still fun to this day.
