Interest in the PS3 is up 127% according to price grabber, though despite this the console is still lagging behind its next gen rivals.

Drawing its figures from the results of searches searches on its site, Pricegrabber was able to judge demand for each of the next generation consoles for the six weeks after launch.

The price comparison engine, whose clients include Comet, Amazon and Play, found that interest in the Playstation 3 improved 100 per cent in the two weeks leading up to launch. The results also showed that in the six weeks after launch, searches had increased a further 127 per cent.

you ppl have no idea whats so ever. you will dish out money for a HDTV, but wont for a system thats it virtually cheap for what your getting, which is the ps3. man talk about stupid. im not saying you did that, but many others i have spoke to said they did that. thats more money than the ps3.

For some people choosing to get a HDTV is of higher priority than a PS3 and just because you get a HDTV doesn't mean you should get a PS3 You could probably set up a media center PC for the same price. Not only that but a lot of people can't afford both at the same time. There's other monetary obligations like rent, bills, food, car insurance, gas, etc. A PS3 is not "cheap" by any means. $600-700 is a huge chunk to pay out. For the normal joe, anyways
