EA have become famous for making sports games, licensed games and rehashed sequels after sequels. Well EA knows that, and they plan on doing something about it. They are trying to change their image by bringing out new IP's such as Dead Space, Mirror's Edge and Spore. This is quite a good business strategy, but you have a long time to get to your goal EA.

For a while now Electronic Arts' has been regarded pretty badly by gamers for it's reputation of releasing sport and licenced only games. It seems however there is a huge change ahead with popular titles and original IP's such as Mirror's Edge, Dead Space and Spore all being relesed under it's wing.

"We found a few years ago that we had a set of problems where EA's reputation became one of just doing sports games, sequels, and licenses and the market was reacting to newer properties like Grand Theft Auto and Halo. At the same time, movie and sports licensors started jacking up their rates and it was becoming less profitable to chase licenses." EA Games president Frank Gibeau

It seems that recently released title Dead Space is being named the model of EA's future. Not only releasing as a game, Dead Space has spanned out into an animated movie as well as a comic book series.

Baby steps people, baby steps. Nothing can be fixed immediately, and be grateful that EA has brought out some fantastic games so far with Spore and Dead Space.

How are you so rational sometimes and so irrational other times? It's nothing short of confounding.

What do you mean? PM me to discuss this. I mean perhaps its the article. But still its true nothing can be fixed immediately for EA case. I mean Slowly with these 3 games they taken steps in quality and we should be grateful they made those games. Mostly everyone who's played them loves it.

I sure do hope they continue this trend, because I am quite pleased what what I have seen. I really dislike their sports titles, but Spore is pretty interesting from what I've played, and I really, really want Dead Space and Mirror's Edge. They're on the right track!

Hell, I'm one the biggest haters of EA on GG, and playing Dead Space has made even me give them a second glance.

Keep it rolling EA, there may be hope for you yet..

I personally enjoyed Army of Two, and will soon pick up Dead Space. Mirror's Edge looks fantastic, as well...yeah, I'd say EA are picking things ups. ^^

Considering these guys own Developing studios all over the world (clear exaggeration), I think the Studios themselves deserve the individual praise, not EA as a whole. I remember reading Game Informer when Dead Space first got started, and how the producers had a difficult time trying to introduce the game concept in the first place...I bet EA is sure as shit paying attention now.

      True that.

I pre-ordered mirrors edge today. Mostly because I saw that they would be giving a free runners bag and it looks awesome.
