Nomura Promises FFXIII Gameplay By End Of Year

The news we've all been waiting for - Nomura has promised fans that we will get to see a gameplay video of FFXIII by the end of this year and with only two months to go till the end of the year, you can expect it soon.

This weeks Gemaga has an interview with Nomura, he mentions that before the end of the year we'll see the battle scene in FF13

    Aw, I was hoping this meant there was a demo on the way. Oh well, this is still going to be welcome news when it hits. I'm just hoping this isn't going to be another great big Square Enix let-down. :/

    But as for the demo, guess we'll just have to wait for that Advent Children Complete package.

    Final Fantasy has lost something in my eyes. I mean, I used to wait with huge anticipation for a FF game. Now... I could wait 10 years and not care. I mean, Final Fantasy, albeit not the greatest of them, was good. X-2 was not, XII was bad and now XIII will probably lack in the old ways as well. Heck they should just wrap up the series with the way they've been turning out. Or just smarten the heck up and go back to their roots.

      Well XIII is being made by the masterminds behind Final Fantasy's VI through to VIII so, hopefully, it'll revert back to what the "majority" of the fanbase seems to wants.

      Personally, I'll be happy with either system.

      Again, hopefully, the gameplay will put some fans fears to rest.

        Well there you go, running my mouth when I don't know certain details haha. Well thanks for the info Mana, regarding the creators. That instills a little bit of faith into me. Since VI through VIII were very good in my opinion.

        Yeah, this is really the biggest reason I'm following the title. Lately, everything Square Enix has done has been one disappointment after another, but considering the creators, part of me is really hoping this one's going to be good.

        But, guess we've only got through the end of the year to wait for some real gameplay to see how things are coming along. Of course, being a Final Fantasy title, there's much more to it than that, but good gameplay is always a good thing.

        Wait, I thought the developers would be ones who did FF10, unless thats the same ones?

        Anyway I personally can't wait for FF13v with similar style to KH.

    I have a feeling for a lot of FF fans, they won't be happy with a FF game until it's an exact replica of FFVII.

    Promises in the game universe seem to carry a lot less weight than they used to, don't they?

      I'd have to agree with Mishtram. Although there are those who start their FF series on the later games (and it's usually their first game played that becomes their favorite), the majority of RPG fans know of or have played FFVII, and want nothing more than a remake of sorts.

        Not me, FFX was my first and I'd much prefer new directions instead of returning to past games for inspiration. Personally I think a fair few fans will bash it whatever direction it takes. If its too like the past games people will call it unoriginal, if its too new people will say its deviated too far from past games.

          I played X first too. I guess the only thing to tell those people is "Well, if you're so clever and original, make your own darn game =)". Problem solved XDDD

          My sister started FF with 10 and she loves it to bits, claiming its one of her favorites. I loved 10 equally, even though 7 was my first FF and RPG game I played.

          I would like to see a remake of FF7 but just to end the compilation. Cause im tired of hearing whiny people talking shit about the compilation as if it sucks, when I enjoyed all of them(DoC doesn't count...for gameplay wise too)

    The title was a little misleading, I was hoping for a downloadable demo.

    Still, atleast the gameplay vid is something. Can't wait.
