The Nintendo Wii has it's fair share of shovelware from third-party developers, so much so that it's always a breath of fresh air to see a third-party dev creating a game that that looks promising enough to wade through the crap.
Disaster: Day of Crisis is one of the upcoming titles that "hardcore" gamers have been anticipating, yet Nintendo of America's big-wig Reggie Fils-Aimé recently revealed that "he doesn’t think Disaster is a $50 game". Partly because the voice-over work and audio is "laughable".

Ouch!

Discuss in the Disaster: Day of Crisis forum

We hung out with Reggie, and basically, he doesn’t think Disaster is a $50 game. Especially in terms of audio, which he said is laughable. He said he’s going to watch it and see how it performs in Europe. If it does well, you’ll probably get it in America, and if it’s a bomb, you probably won’t.

damn!!! This is how a 3 party dev is treated when they create something for Nintendo. Nin. should've helped the dev out, like how Sony is hiring the top resources for the development of Killzone 2. But I doubt Nintendo gives a rats ass about any 3rd party developer.

with that said, have fun with your shovelware kids.

This isn't a third party developer. They can do whatever they want. This is a first party title, and NoA doesn't think it would be too successful in North America. They said that they will wait to see how it does in Europe, but the game does have a fairly limited appeal and reviews so far have been decent. Seeing as Nintendo would have to spend all the money releasing it here, it depends on whether or not they think the investment is worth it.

it is a third party title, the game is being developed by Monolith software..a third party developer. The game itself being funded by Nintendo.

what investment?! the game looked like crap from the begining, Nintendo didn't even try with this title. All I have to say that any third party developer out there should shut down all ties with Nintendo and develop for other consoles. You won't get s**t in return.

Nintendo bought Monolith Software a while back, so they aren't a third party developer anymore.

Investment is any money they spend on this, which includes localization and marketing, which is expensive. If it doesn't sell, that's money has been wasted. If he doesn't think it is worth full price, then they probably imagine the consumer would think the same way.

By the way, they did spend a good deal of money on it and years of development time, but Monolith was plagued with development problems. At points it was close to being cancelled. It fell short of expectations, but that doesn't mean they "didn't even try".

More like "This game wont print money like WiiFit/Music, lets not bother with it, despite the fact its miles better than just about everything else on the Wii"

Also has very good voice acting, I dont know what he's smoking.

I didn't know they got bought my Nin. Thats gotta suck balls if a publisher bought you only to critisize your work in the end.

again Ninetendo didn't invest s**t in the game if in the end they don't believe its a money maker or a game of quality.

Guerilla Games are being treated like kings by Sony giving them all the resources they need to mka e a great game. Not only that but promotion on this game has gone under f'in radar.

    Nintendo investment my a$$.
