Hate games which don't last? Especially First Person Shooters? Then there's another reason to get upcoming title Resistance 2. According to game creators Insomniac it will take over a 100 hours to obtain all there is to get in the offline singleplayer and cooperative modes, as well as roughly 75 hours to max each of the three multiplayer classes online. Equaling up to roughly 400 hours all up, and this isn't even including the competitive multiplayer.

Thankfully, for at least my own review purposes, the single player campaign should take you about 9 to 11 hours to burn through. That's totally reasonable. But if you plan on dedicating the time to do everything, unlock every level, find every briefing, max out every class, you've got about 18 days of your life ahead of you just playing R2.

Woah, that is one *bleep*ing long game. Not a chance I'd devote that much time to it! @_@ Still, I have a hunch plenty of people will end up spending that much time at it!

    Ed!t: 300 GG-points! This is sparta!

If the gameplay is addicting and immersive enough to merit repeated playthroughs, then bloody well done Insomniac; an awesome title which is well worth the price and will keep us busy until the christmas period.

They are such awesome developers. The game sounds/looks fantastic.

420 hours? That a little but too short. Why not 700?

      Final Blade Nov 1, 08
I know thats a joke but seriously, 420 is double the amount of hours of GTA games.

It's longer than most RPG games i mean a skilled gamer can do everything within the game mission wise and max their character in under 150 hours i mean this is a task for the most extreme endurance gamers, online should be easy as if you get hooked on it 70 hours per class is nothing but single player and co-op is where it might get tiring just playing and playing to find all the briefings.

I know, I don't see where in my post I stated otherwise. GTA(or sandbox) games are known for its hours upon hours of replayability. Im just replying to Sabre about his joke being bad.

It wasn't meant to be taken literally, but there are people who obsess over these things to the smallest degrees.

Yeah, repetetive tasks never stopped people from going crazy with games that revolve around them....

In my case, take Disgaea.....To get to level 9999, it involves repeating the same stage maaaaaany times. Depending on your situation, it could several thousand....And that is just one time....To totally max out a character's unequipped stats, you'd have to do that like, a dozen or more times, I think....About 19, according to my knowledge (for Disgae 3)....That's MINIMUM >_>

Yet some people still do it.

There are some people who live for this sort of stuff. These sort of long running extras are there for people who want it. This game should be just fine even if you only invest a fraction of that estimated time into it.

I am such a gamer you speak of though i mean 17 days none stop play to complete the game 100% thats without making a mistake or getting distracted, it's like 60 days if you play a bare minimum of 6 hours a day and over 200 days if you play atleast 2 hours a day, this is definately for the hardened of collectors. Lets hope they have something big for those that dare try i mean if it's just another black ops skull suit then i'll pass as completing Resistance 1 on superhuman just to get that was depressing.

An Insomniac is a person who suffers from sleep deprivation.
Basically Chautemoc is saying it's funny caus 420 will cause you to be an Insomniac =d

Lol, even that works on a couple levels.

Weed can make you have trouble sleeping as well.

          Unless that's what you meant...

I wasn't aware he was comparing this to the actual definition to Insomnia.

          Its interesting though.
